The Vision of the Douglas County Probation and Court Services Department is to motivate clients towards positive change in an effort to reduce recidivism and enhance public safety.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Douglas County Probation and Court Services Department is to serve the Court, enhance the safety of our community, and reduce criminal behavior through client accountability and rehabilitation. Intensive services are directed to clients with the highest likelihood of reoffending by targeting needs directly related to problem behaviors and connecting clients with service provider’s best suited to the clients learning styles. Risk of reoffending is reduced by engaging and accurately assessing, building intrinsic motivation, developing and enhancing skills, and ongoing reinforcement of progress with clients. We accomplish this mission by acting with integrity and treating everyone we encounter with dignity and respect.
